You’re going to do what? 🤔😯🤷‍♀️

Have you ever been asked, “You’re going to do what?” by someone, maybe even a well-intentioned loved one when you’ve shared your big dreams or ideas?

Or maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of a quizzical stare or confused shake of the head from someone that just didn’t understand the life you’ve envisioned and the impact you want to make?

You're going to do what? Yong Pratt

You’re going to do what?

It’s been happening to me my whole life.

Since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to do things my way. To go against the grain and try something unconventional was just part of who I was. Because I was super shy, however, I did a lot of these things on the sly so as not to draw attention to myself.

And I was a good kid – a rule follower to a fault. As you can imagine, the compulsion to do things my own way and try new things coupled with wanting to follow the directions and live up to the expectations of others caused a fair amount of inner turmoil…

Case in point.

It was 1997. I had just graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Health Education. I had a secure, well-paying job with the state that provided not only health care benefits but a coveted retirement plan.

For all intents and purposes, I was on the “right” path. I had a degree, a job with benefits, and my future looked secure until…

I was invited to become a cast member with the international educational organization, Up With People. I was given an opportunity of a lifetime to travel the world, immerse myself in diverse cultures, serve the communities we visited, and be on stage nearly every day and perform!!!

But there was a BIG problem.

Not only was I a rule-follower, I was also a people pleaser extraordinaire! I had already disappointed my family by not going to medical school. And here I was about to disappoint them again by giving up security for something they perceived as “frivolous.”

And it wasn’t just my family.

Many of my friends just couldn’t understand why I would even entertain such an idea. There were lots of well-meaninged naysayers, eye-rollers, and exasperated shrugs when it came to this life-changing decision. It seemed like everyone had an opinion on the matter.

What they didn’t understand, and never bothered to ask, was my WHY.

Can you relate?

Let me know in the comments 👇

It was time to embrace my nature fully and do things my own way.

I quit my job, gave notice on my apartment, and moved all my belongings back to my parents’ house. Then I packed a single suitcase and a backpack and headed out to carve my own path in the world for an entire year.

It was time to do something just for me.

My decision didn’t need to make sense for anyone else (as hard as it was to admit that).  It was my life and I was about to start living it on my own terms and not someone else’s.

And guess what???

The year of seeing, serving, and performing was extraordinary – beyond my wildest dreams and it shaped my life in ways I can scarcely put into words.

To think that I almost let the opinions of others stop me from experiencing that year makes me feel a bit ill…

Just for fun, here are a few pics from my year of travel that I almost missed

As you head out to do your thing today, remember that only YOU know the right path for you.

The path you choose may not be the most direct.

Your path may be full of great challenges, some of which will cause you to question your decisions.

But the path ahead is yours to choose.

Don’t let the opinions of others get in the way of sharing all that makes you awesome!

I know this 👆is SUPER hard!

2020 is the year to tap into your unique superpowers.

2020 is the year you stop being the best-kept secret in your industry!

2020 is the year to embrace all that makes you AWESOME!

Now that you have unleashed your superpowers, it's time to package them up and share them with the world. And one of the best ways to do that is with a podcast. Welcome to episode number 255 of the In a Weekend podcast. I'm your host, Yong Pratt, and we love to help you unleash your superpowers here on the podcast, and package them up and share them with the world in unique ways that highlight all the awesome things about you and your business.

0:38
Before we dive into why a podcast may make sense for you, and how you can use it to share your superpowers with the world in a nice, neat package, let's first talk about superpowers. If you haven't already listened to last week's podcast, which was episode number 254m, I want you to pause this episode right now and go back to the show notes at Yong pratt.com/254 and go through the steps to unleash your superpowers. Once you have done that, this episode is going to make much more sense for you as far as packaging up your superpowers in a really interesting way deal. Okay, so let's dive into podcasting.

1:28
Why does a podcast make sense for packaging up your superpowers? Well, there's so many reasons why podcasting is a super smart marketing tool, and one that you can use to share your superpowers. If you've listened to this podcast for any length of time, you know, we talk a lot about podcasting. And there are so many great reasons why a podcast makes sense for you and your business and especially to share your unique superpowers. One of the main reasons I love it podcasting, it's a great connection tool. What does that mean? Well, when someone is referred to me, for instance, to do one of our done for you systems and processes packages, the way that I like to connect with them in the beginning is to share some of our past podcast episodes with them. Why would I do that? Well, one of the reasons I do that is because I want to make sure that the person who is coming to hire us for a service understands who we are, what we do, how we teach what we believe, and really believes in the philosophy of everything that we do in our business. Those are really important steps to be able to take first before you bring on a brand new client, or at least in my opinion, that's one of the best ways for those clients that are new to you to really get to know like and trust you and then be more inclined to hire you for your higher level services or products.

2:59
Another example is if you are subscribed to my email list, I often will send links to specific podcast episodes that are relevant to the subject matter in that email. That way, whether you like to learn best by reading or whether you prefer to listen, there's multiple ways for you to get that messaging that you need so that I can serve you at a higher level. So podcasts are my go to for educating my potential clients as well as my current clients in my classes. By sharing these tips and episodes from the podcast with potential clients, with current clients. And even with past clients. It's just a really great way to help people to understand that I love to serve them, I love to share with them, I want the best for them. And a podcast is a really personal place to do it. So when it comes to them, wanting to hire us to do our done for you services. I'm never having to sell. The podcast and what they've learned from me and the education and the value they're gaining from that really sells our services for us. So we never really have to quote unquote, hard sell. And if you're, if you could see me, I'm using my air quotes, because those words of selling are hard selling or closing are not words that I resonate with. They feel kind of icky to me. But if I can educate somebody before they hire us, if I can educate someone, even when they're already in our classes, and serve them at a higher level, you better believe that I want to do that. And a podcast is a perfect place to do that.

4:37
Now, another reason a podcast makes sense is that it's portable. People don't even have to have access to a Wi Fi connection, to listen to your message. Yes, they'll need it to be able to get your episode on to whatever device they're listening to. But if they're going on a trip, maybe you're hopping on the plane, the ability for that to take you and your brand and your message and your unique superpowers with them, that's a very intimate thing. They're popping you into their earbuds, and everything you want to share with them is at their fingertips. It is completely magical. And it is such a cool way to be able to connect with people in this hyper-connected world, where we, oddly enough, feel more disconnected from the people around us than we did before all this technology came into play.

5:32
So those are just a couple of reasons why a podcast makes sense for you and your business. I do want to say if you've done any searching at all, for podcasting, you looked up the term, how to start a podcast or something of that nature, you're likely to be confronted with a couple of things.

5:50
One: really, really lengthy articles that are pages and pages and pages long, or you'll run into videos and you watch one you kind of go down the rabbit hole, sometimes it'll autoplay, you'll watch the next thing. And often, those videos will contradict each other. So then you end up being more confused than when you began your search. And then you just throw your hands up in the air, and you move on to the next project. I can speak from experience on this one, that has happened to me more times than I can count. And when it came to podcasting, and starting my podcast way back in 2013, I spent a lot of time or I should say, I wasted a lot of time, trying to figure it out on my own, trying to do all these Google searches to really put all the pieces together in a way that made sense. But it wasn't until I found a mentor had it all packaged up in a way that I resonated with that that made sense for me to invest in a program to help the podcast and it made all the difference.

6:49
In this year of 2020, my message for you is to find people in your life that you resonate with, you connect with that you believe in, you've seen their work. You've seen how they serve their clients. You see how they show up in the world. Get those people to mentor you and help you achieve those goals you want to create, like starting a podcast.

7:14
We will be opening up the doors to Podcast in a Weekend very soon. So if you are interested, definitely reach out to me on social and let me know because we're going to do it in a bit of a different way. It's not going to be a huge launch. It's going to be sort of a smaller, more intimate launch. Because we're going to do it a little bit differently. The execution is going to be different. The class content is going to be the same. Plus we're adding in several more things to not only package up your superpowers with the podcast, but to be able to help you amplify your podcast in really big ways to help you reach more people.

7:55
Let me ask you this. Are you ready to take all of your knowledge and All of those superpowers that you've unleashed, lean into them and package them up on a podcast? Come on over to Yongpratt.com/255. And let me know how I can help you accomplish that in 2020.

8:16
We have big things coming for you. We have the big rebrand coming down the pipeline on the 17th of February with a new brand. I'm super excited about that. I want to serve you and help you to really amplify all those things that make you awesome, including your superpowers to help you soar above all of the fray and stand out from anyone else doing what you do in this year and in this decade. If you are ready to do that, definitely come on over to the show notes Yong pratt.com/255 let me know what help you need to package up your super powers on a podcast in 2020. Until next time, my friends, I wish you a fantastic day. Cheers.

Superpowers. What are yours? You know those things that make you unique, that make you who you are. Those gifts, those talents that you possess, those experiences that you have. The things that come easily to you, and the things that light you up. Today on episode number 254 of the In a Weekend podcast, we're diving into unleashing your superpowers. Are you ready, my friends?

0:32
Welcome to episode number 254 of the In a Weekend podcast. I'm your host, Yong Pratt and here on the podcast, we are all about helping you take fast, massive action to see the kind of results you want to see and create the kind of things like a podcast, you've been dreaming of creating for a long time. We show you a framework. We help you get there and take action and we help you create things fast. Because if you're anything like I am, if you don't get things done quickly, sometimes they don't just get done ever, so we're not gonna let that happen. Agreed?

1:14
Well, last week on the podcast, our first of 2020, we talked about what is your word? And we talked a little bit about this idea of superpowers. Now when I talk about superpowers, I am not referring to the things you see in the movies or you read in the comics, like x-ray vision or the ability to leap buildings and climb up them using your spider webs. That is not the kind of superpowers we are referring to in today's episode, although I have to say having those things would be super cool.

1:48
What we're talking about today is you and your unique gifts, your unique talents, the way you view the world, your experiences, the way you help others and the things that light you up. And often these superpowers are things that tend to be easy for you. When you do them, they're quick and kind of almost brainless sometimes. But when other people see you do them, they think, 'wow, you're really good at that.'

2:20
So right now, if you are listening on the go, I want you to come back to this episode. But if you are sitting someplace and you have a pen and paper or you have your phone with, with your notes open, I want you to quickly make a list of five or 10 or even 20 things that come easily to you. The things that you would love doing even if you didn't get paid to do them. And the things that just light you up and bring you joy. Pause right now, write your list or if you're on the go, come back and make sure you go through this exercise because figuring out what your superpowers are and how you can use those to serve others. build your business to make the kind of impact you dream of making, it all starts here with these superpowers.

3:08
Last week on the episode I shared with you as well that this idea of superpowers is not a new one. Years ago, I wrote my first book all about Raising a Superhero - about tapping into your kids superpowers, and helping them excel in the school system and helping them feel really good about how they learn and who they are and their unique gifts and talents. And after I published that book, I kind of put it aside for a while and didn't really think about superpowers. It was kind of always there in my subconscious. But lately, this word superpowers has come back into my life and really come full circle. I invested in a new program over the Christmas break. And these mentors talk about superpowers. And the cool thing is, they refer to them in the same way that I I like to refer to them - that your superpowers are things that you can do. They are things that you can do well, the things that bring you joy, the things that come easily to you.

4:13
And I just thought, Oh my goodness. All these years ago, I talked about superpowers and this idea of being a superhero and helping you to become the superhero of your business by sharing everything that makes you awesome, has kind of been a theme that's been running in the background, but I'm ready, my friends, to help you bring your superpowers to the forefront. To help you not only discover what they are, but to help you lean into them, and to help you then take those superpowers and help other people by sharing your knowledge. Are you with me?

4:53
This is a really cool time in history. This new decade has really lit a fire under me like pretty much no other time in history I feel because it almost feels like the slate has been wiped clean. It's time to let the past stay in the past, take our lessons learned, move on and really Dream Big about what you're going to create in 2020.

5:18
So let's talk about that. What do you want to lean into in 2020? So think about that in the context of your superpowers.

5:27
How can you take your superpowers and the things that you love to do and are good at how can you take those things and lean into them more? How can you bring them into your business? How can you use those things to serve at a higher level? How can you take those superpowers and really amplify everything that makes you, you and makes you a completely awesome person?

5:57
I know this is a lot to take in it. Almost leans into the woo field about superpowers. But I really want you to, you know, put your adulting hat aside and step into that childlike wonder you had when you were young, a time when anything was possible, and dreams were just that they were dreams. And you can visualize what things were going to be and you visualize who you want it to be. I'm really asking you today to step into that sense of wonder, digging deep into you, and who you are and who you love to serve and how you love to serve them, and the ways that you can serve them that bring joy. We're going to put all those together as we unleash your superpowers.

6:48
So let me give you some examples of myself to kind of set the stage and help you to really kind of a springboard and write your list of superpowers down. Okay? Here we go. So for years, for 17 years, in fact, I ran a performing arts studio. The really interesting thing is that when I close the studio and moved into the online space, and started working in tech and working with other business owners, helping them with their technology challenges, and speaking the language of tech between creatives and the tech people, I discovered quickly that that was one of my superpowers. I was able to decipher, if you will, tech speak, to help non-techie people understand tech, but then help them get the people in their lives, to help them with their tech by being able to speak that language as well. So it was interesting to be somewhat of a translator, if you will. I never thought about that as a superpower. But I discovered quickly that in my world of the performing arts, being in the tech space and being able to make sense of a tech was not in the wheelhouse of most of my peers. So that became one of the superpowers. That kind of stood out from the rest. And I can lean into that by helping my fellow Performing Arts studio owners understand and tackle theirs.

8:10
Another one of my superpowers is being able to be somewhat of a sleuth. Meaning that I feel a little bit like Nancy Drew in the sense that when I go into a business, or I talk to somebody about their business, and they fill me in on some of those questions that I ask, I can quickly see some of the things that they themselves maybe overlooking, or they have not thought of, in regards to growing their business, to monetize their business to help their business more run more efficiently. And when I talk about efficiency, that really boils down to the systems and the processes. So from being the strategic person, seeing the gaps, being that sleuth, and then being able to couple that with what systems and what processes does a business owner needs to put in place that will help them run their business more efficiently, be more profitable, and save more time with automation.

9:15
Now, if you've been listening to the podcast for any length of time, you know that I am a huge fan of automation and time savings. So I look at people's businesses from that lens. And I discovered that these are superpowers of mine. They have risen to the top and they're superpowers that I am now leaning into in this new year. I'm leaning in as we rebrand the business and the podcast because this new name and this new space that we're going to occupy in the world really kind of encompasses all of these superpowers and helps me package them in a way that makes sense This re-brand is all about helping you to unleash the superpowers and really lean into them in a big way. And to take those superpowers and package them up to serve others in a big way.

10:18
On the last episode, you learned that my word for 2020 is soar. And I want you to come on this journey with me. So if you didn't pause this episode before, I want you to make sure you do this for me. Pinky promise? I want you to take some time today, or at least in the next seven days, and write down a list of all the things that you love to do. The things that you love to teach. The things that are easy for you. Answer or write down some of the questions people tend to ask you about certain things in your life. And these things do not have to be related to your business. If they do, that's cool. If not, it's okay too, because sometimes, we often overlook the superpowers that are right in front of us.

11:09
And that's how it was when I discovered that speaking tech, and making tech easy for non techies was a superpower. And then lately I've learned that helping people be strategic in their businesses, particularly with their marketing and how they reach the people they want to reach. That's a superpower. And then the craziest one is being able to help business owners create systems and processes it because my friends, I went in kicking and screaming when I had a mentor who helped me to create not one or two, but hundreds of systems that ran my Performing Arts studio, even in my absence. Because of those systems, I was able to take a month off, be in another country on another continent. My business still ran without me because these systems were in place. My employees knew exactly what to do, how to do them with what resources and what the outcome needed to be. So as weird as it seems, for a creative to also be a systems and process person, kind of a strange combination, I have discovered and have even started to embrace that. I kind of love systems and processes, and being strategic.

12:31
So my friends, I want you to make sure you write down your list. And then once you have done that, go through and circle a handful of them that you would love to explore or lean into this year. And maybe these things can help you serve your clients to a higher degree in 2020 because as a business owner, it's always about your ability to serve clients in unique ways, consistent ways. In ways that resonate with you and your brand, or speak about your business even when you aren't there.

13:11
So my friends, here's what I want you to do. Now that you've made your list, you've narrowed it down, you figured out the things you want to lean into, come on over to the show notes for today's episode at Yongpratt.com/254 and share the top five superpowers that you have discovered in this process. I cannot wait to find out what your superpowers are. I hope that by me sharing what my superpowers are and kind of how I discovered them that's going to serve you and help you discover what yours are as well because 2020 my friends is the year that we unleash your superpowers in a big way - we amplify those superpowers and we help you to make the kind of impact that you know you were meant to me. Until next time, my friends I wish you a tremendous day. Cheers.

Have you noticed an abundance of posts and stories all about choosing a word for this new year?

0:08
I know that I have been seeing a ton of friends and even acquaintances who have posted asking others what their word for the year is and sharing theirs.

0:21
Well today on episode number 253, we're going to dive into the reasons you may want to choose a word. I'm going to share what my word for 2020 is, and let you in on a few of the things that are coming down the road that are super exciting in this brand new year.

0:43
Welcome to episode number 253 of the In a Weekend podcast. I'm your host Yong Pratt, and I'm so glad you are tuning in for this first episode of the new decade. Here on the podcast, we dive in tips, tricks, tools and resources to help you to do things quickly, efficiently and easily. Things like launching your podcast in just a weekend, launching your first or next ebook in a weekend, and even launching your blog in, you guessed it - a weekend we love helping business owners to share everything that makes them awesome, especially on podcasts.

1:31
I love podcasting. We love podcasting here. And it's one of the best marketing tools I've personally discovered for my own business, to help people to get to know like and trust me before they work further with us. It's one of the main tools I use to connect with people and help them on their journey to get to that next step.

1:55
So I'm curious, have you chosen a word for 2020? If so, head over to the show notes for today's episode at yongpratt.com.253 and let me know.

2:11
So let's first talk about why you would even want to choose a word for 2020. Choosing a word for the year is something I have not been doing very long. And maybe it came in fashion just a few years ago because I feel like I've only ever chosen a couple of words.

2:28
And when I choose a word, I kind of go through a process of narrowing things down. What does that mean? Well, I usually write down a bunch of words that I like that I want to embody in the year. And I'll go through and ask myself some questions like, does this word really encapsulate everything I want to do this year? Does it speak to who I want to become and the goals that I want to reach this year? And sometimes I find that it'll be a couple words, maybe two or three words that are kind of close, mean a little bit different things, and then I'll go try to find a word that combines those things and really gives me the essence of what it is I want to embody in the year.

3:11
Do you have a process for this? Again, come over to our show notes at Yongpratt.com/253 and let me know.

3:20
So why on earth would you choose a word? Well, it's kind of like, I guess, goal setting where you set out to create certain things. You have these big dreams, you have these big visions, and you want to bring them into reality and take your business to that next level that you are dreaming of. And so the word that you might want to choose probably is tied to some of the things you want to create in the year. It really for me, the word of the year really speaks to who do I want to become in the new year? And for me, I want to be helpful in the new year. I want to make a bigger impact. I want to help more of you, dear listeners, and the students in our classes and my private clients really start to amplify everything that makes you unique - those gifts and talents, those experiences, those lessons you've learned. I love helping people to package that all up, look at things in a new way and be strategic about how they take all this knowledge that they have, and share it with the world in a meaningful way.

4:31
And when I mean meaningful, that means to me that it impacts positively the people who are on the receiving end. Plus it impacts you as an individual, and it helps you to grow your business. It helps you to grow your brand so it's meaningful for everyone involved. It is certainly not a one-sided kind of thing.

4:54
Recently, I learned a new word from a new mentor and this word is 'knowledge broker." Isn't that an interesting word, knowledge broker? And these mentors actually talked about knowledge brokers, in the sense that there are people who are needed to help share information with the world, whether that is your own information, or you're helping someone else to share theirs in a positive manner. There's lots of ways you can be the broker of knowledge, but it is about taking the knowledge that you have inside the knowledge that somebody else has in them, and then sharing that with the world in a big way through classes through workshops, through masterminds, through intensives through all sorts of different ways. There's so many ways to slice and dice knowledge, right?

5:49
If you think about the podcast, we are brokering knowledge. I sometimes will share the knowledge that I've gained through the years and I love to share my lessons learned and the mistakes I've made to make sure that you don't fall into those same traps or pitfalls. And you can get there much faster. It's about helping you to expedite your path to creating a podcast, for instance. I've made all the mistakes in the book. I've been doing this for a long time since 2013 s o if I can share some of my wisdom and my knowledge with you, that serves you in a big way, that also ensures that I'm living up to my moral obligation to share what I know.

6:35
I truly believe and there's lots of people who say things to this effect that you were placed here on the planet to do something special. You weren't placed on the planet to be miserable and not make the kind of impact you know you can make. Even the chances of you being born in the first place are so astronomical. The numbers are crazy that you're one in millions. A lot of events had to conspire, and work together in order for you even to be on this planet. So because you are here, you kind of have this, this obligation, this this duty to your fellow man to help them on their journey, whatever that journey is, and to be that person that can guide them to that next level. And that's what I love to do.

7:24
I love to be teaching. I have been doing it for more than two decades now, which is hard to believe. But I hope that in my coming on here every week and sharing wins and sharing lessons, learned and sharing guests and having them bring their skills and knowledge that your path to success for your podcast or your ebook or your blog is that much faster because the world, my friend does absolutely need you. Even if running your business is a part time gig now and you want to do it full time. There are ways that we can start to share your awesome with the world that is very strategic because on this podcast, we're all about strategy.

8:08
I've learned recently that I'm kind of a nerd or a geek when it comes to talking about systems and processes and strategy. And I get super excited about helping other business owners dream bigger -dreams for themselves and for their business, whether that means changing up their brand or ways to monetize their business. I just love that big picture, blue-sky thinking strategy part of business. I totally geek out about that, which is interesting because I'm a creative, so I like to dream big, but then I couple that with being able to pull back the reins a little bit and create those systems and those processes that business owners sometimes forget about creating.

8:56
So I'm digressing a little bit, but I really wanted to make it abundantly clear that here on the podcast we are here to serve you to share my knowledge and the knowledge of my guests with you to help you on your journey to expedite the process to have you benefit from the knowledge here on this podcast. I hope that comes across. I'm super excited about that. And in 2020 we have some big, hairy audacious goals. Our B-hags are massive, probably the biggest goals I ever had in my business to date. The first thing I want to tell you about is that in this new year, we are doing a complete rebrand. We are changing the name of the podcast, we are changing the name of our business to really better explain what it is that we do without so many words.

9:46
For example, the podcast is currently called In a weekend. And while that makes sense in my head and the heads of my students who have taken any of our in a weekend series of classes, it makes sense we like take fast action, we like to encourage momentum, we like for you to have big wins fast. And so we like to do those things in a weekend. So when it came to changing the name of the podcast that made total sense, however, for those people who have not been part of this world, and this podcast in a weekend doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, because there's not any context to go with it. So this new name is a new brand that is coming up, which is going to launch on February 17, which is my birthday. So I thought it would be an awesome day to really celebrate a lot of things. The brand is going to be epic. I've rebranded before, actually several times, not just this podcast, but by brick and mortar business.

10:47
When I ran that I went through several rebrand and I've learned a lot of things in the process. This rebrand thought is a little bit different because I'm just so excited about this because I finally feel like what we're going to be bringing to you with our new name and our new brand and our new mission is going to benefit you tremendously and to really help you dive into your unique gifts, your unique talents.

11:13
These are something I like to call superpowers. And the funny thing is years ago, I published my first book called Raising a Superhero: How to Unleash Your Child's 8 Superpowers and Propel Learning Through the Arts. It's a very long title for a not so long book all about helping parents to help their kids through the education system. Because if your kids are in the education system, you may understand that the education system is not set up to help all kids equally, nor are all kids' superpowers or their gifts and talents celebrated in school and sometimes they're not celebrated, but we're asked to dim their light a little bit. As a parent, I saw this happening to my own kids. I saw this happening to the kids at my studio. And I took an idea that I learned about in graduate school and really put my own spin on it because it's these superpowers that differentiate each of us from anyone else.

12:15
When it comes to doing things like courses, are there other people out there in my world that are teaching podcasting? Absolutely. And for a long time, I really hesitated to enter into this podcasting space because there are some really huge names, and I didn't feel like I could compete. But the reality is people don't buy programs, they buy people, they're connected to people and they trust you, my friend, to lead them down this path even though your program or your course or your coaching, maybe similar to someone else's. They're getting you and your unique gifts, your unique experiences, your unique superpowers, the way you view the world is and we want to embrace those things and really celebrate them in 2020.

13:06
So with this rebrand, it is all about helping you discover and unleash those superpowers. And really amplify that to the next level in a very strategic way. So we're taking a lot of the different loves that I have bundling them up together into one new brand, and I'm so excited about revealing it to you. You'll definitely be seeing posts on social and even in your email. I hope you are subscribed to our email list because we share a lot of great stories and a lot of great lessons learned and a lot of things I only share with my email subscribers. So definitely if you're not on our email list, let me know on our show notes, Yong pratt.com/253 and when you're there, you'll notice a couple of different ways that you can hop on to our email list. And trust me, I am not going to spam you. I only want to serve you and help you on your path to discover and amplify everything that makes you unique. And really to help you understand what your superpowers are, so that you can share them with the world, my friends, because that is what life is about: sharing what you know, being a broker of knowledge and helping people learn through self- education - another word I learned recently. It's the idea that we as individuals can choose to educate ourselves, not by necessarily having to go through the traditional means of education like a four-year degree, but to be able to have a choice to choose to find someone out in the world who is doing exactly what you want to do, and learning directly from them to cut your learning time in half and really condensing years into days. That's what this year is all about. So with all that being said, I want to share with you that my word for 2020 is soar: S- O-A-R.

15:06
For years now I've been playing kind of a small game where I've I've elevated myself and my brand a little bit but there is some big fear to overcome and things like self-doubt that crept in and kept me playing a smaller game. As a result I was kind of stuck in traffic. I did an episode years ago about being stuck in traffic about how sometimes we let what else is happening around us. We let things like social media get us down because we see someone else's successes and we think, 'wow, well that person hasn't gone through my things. They don't understand. Why do they have success that I don't?' And all that yuck that is the comparison trap or Comparison Island where you go and you start comparing yourself. All those things have kept me down in the fray and in the traffic in the muck. And so this year, with this new brand, with the new name of the podcast and with everything we have planned for you here, it's time to soar, my friends, like an eagle up through the blue sky, looking down, being able to have this bird's eye view about what is happening, what is possible, and staying out of them.

16:19
Are you with me? I would love to help you soar in 2020 as well. Come on over to the show notes at YongPratt.com/253. Let me know your word of the year, how you chose it and tell me yay or nay: Are you my friends ready to soar in 2020? Because I, for one, sure am, and I cannot wait to help you do the same. I'll catch you on the next episode. Cheers!
